| canvas shoes |

my friend's old canvas shoes with a new facelift.
it's my first time drawing on a canvas,
and on a shoe using a pen.
it's not bad an experience but
parts of the drawings were smudged by some water stains,
hence explained the purple-ish patches.
i shall try acrylic paint or fabric pen the next time round,
should i have some other shoes to work on,
but i doubt it will turn out well since both materials
seem difficult to control. |

bunkmate: seriously... your tree drawn until very ugly leh.
me: don't you think it is very rude of you to comment on an artist's work especially he has yet finish with it and even worse, you are commenting in the midst of him working on his artwork...
bunkmate: no...
me: well, i am now telling you... it is very rude to do so.

no matter how horrible my drawings might appear to be so,
i know that my mum will still like them.

certain somebody just enjoy putting people down by
throwing comments such as follows:
"you should stop doing your rubbish drawings..."
oh, that fellow used to be my bunkmate.
------
when you were just minding your own business,
doing your doodles in the sketchbook,
and this particular nosey fellow had to peer over,
stretching his neck like how a tortoise would
reach for some air when it is in water,
and he probably felt that his opinions
had to be heard in that very instance,
and said, "that's so ugly."

i challenged grace to draw me using a HB pencil
and initially without an eraser,
but she almost foamed cos' she can't erase
her mistakes so yea...
i like it =]
afterwhich, my very first time ever
completing a live portrait drawing.
i still have a lot more to improve on,
and i had fun drawing grace! ha!

ahhh, finally i'm done done DONE with this visual! it took me SOOOO LONG to do the shadings. i'm excited to experiment other drawing methods!

did this during my bmt phase,
and i thought i would only post it if i get into ocs so...
that means more moolahs for me
and more pimples
and more crazy physical activities
and fieldcamps that i don't look forward to
and it also proves something...
rumour has it that only tall people can go into OCS cos with their height,
they seemed to be more armed with a certain extent of authority.
SHORT people can also go into OCS!

spot a word in the visual.
the 16km routemarch i had a couple of weeks ago was much tougher than the 24km. when we arrived at our first 4km rest point, i was nearly burnt out. it's probably due to the fact my body wasn't conditioned for the double socks method i employed for the virgin time which gave me pins and needles for the 1st 4km.
the vegetation was so beautiful there and that's where the inspiration of the visual come about; neatly laid out trees with slender trunks and branches, reaching to the skies above. also, pretty much inspired from ingrid michaelson's "keep breathing". following is a scene from "grey's anatomy" and the song together with the acting tied hand in hand so wonderfully as one. enjoy!

dated some time ago, i mentioned i had so much inspirations listening to this particular music piece by Sakamoto Ryuichi, "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence", or as most of you are more familiar to the music used in the trailer of "The Leap Years".
above is something i had in mind when i listened to the music piece and also much influenced by what i have seen during my fieldcamp.

i forgot to mention that my ugly design is used for the company tee so the whole 200 of us are going to wear that for the games day =/
also, i'm in the mascot team, responsible for the costumes for the cheerleading team, drummers, dancers and the pegasus mascot.
it scares me how project runway it is for the whole mascot team when we boil down to minor details for individual costumes. |
